How do you see?

Sometimes the world is so clear, and sometimes it is so cloudy. I want to see this life through a lens of truth... Through my "spiritual goggles", if you will. But often, I feel myself slipping away from Truth and entering the realm of dissatisfaction, indifference, and laziness. I can sense myself slipping in and out of reality, and it is in these times that I am reminded of the great gift of understanding.

And in these times, I am also reminded that pursuing Truth is not all up to me. Though I must do my part, choosing self-discipline and setting my mind on things above, all real control is in the hands of the Creator. Our LORD has the power to bring understanding and to remove it. We are at His mercy, and thankfully, the God who rules is a just God. He is good; His way is perfect.

Today I ran across Psalm 43:

Send out your light and your truth;
let them lead me;
let them bring me to your holy hill,
and to your dwelling!
Then I will go to the altar of God,
to God my exceeding joy,
and I will praise you with the lyre,
O God, my God

God, let me be fully satisfied in Your God-breathed Word. Your perfect Scriptures. Lead me by Truth; show me yourself; glorify yourself through me. O God, be my exceeding joy. The joy that pours forth and covers all around me. LORD, enlighten me, open my eyes, clean my heart, purify my soul. Let me see YOU; let me see TRUTH.

You are the light by which I see, the path by which I move.

Be my satisfaction. Be my heart. Be my purpose.
